About Ink Boss Art

Ink Boss Art was born from a love of art that lives beyond the gallery; art that tells a story, celebrates place, and finds its way into everyday life.
Founded by Melissa Sharplin and Anneke Stewart, both established New Zealand artists, Ink Boss Art brings together the craftsmanship of traditional art-making with the accessibility of modern design.

Our collections, spanning notebooks, fine-art prints, cards, and homeware transform original artwork into beautifully finished pieces that people can gift, collect, and use. Every product begins with a story: a painting, sketch, or digital illustration that holds the essence of Aotearoa and its wild coasts, native flora and fauna, small-town charm, and moments of quiet wonder.

At Ink Boss Art, we believe in circular creativity supporting local artists, working with New Zealand printers and suppliers, and giving back to the creative community with every order. By keeping production close to home, we maintain quality, nurture relationships, and reduce waste, ensuring each piece reflects the care and connection behind it.

At Ink Boss Art, we collaborate with like-minded retailers, galleries, and boutique stores who share our passion for art with heart; beautiful, New Zealand-made products that tell a story and bring creativity into everyday life.

Whether you’re just discovering our range or looking to expand your existing collection, we’ve designed our wholesale and consignment options to make partnering with us simple, flexible, and rewarding.

Wholesale Partnerships

Placing your first order?
We understand that investing in something new can feel like a leap, which is why we like to take that first step together. When you place your first wholesale order, we’ll add an extra one-third of product free of charge and defer the invoice for that portion for six months.

It’s our way of setting you up for success from day one, with full shelves, confident selling, and a little extra backup from us.

If your store regularly orders over $1000 per month, we’d love to talk about increased commission or tailored pricing to suit your volume and range.

Consignment Partnerships

Prefer a lower-risk start? We also offer sale-or-return consignment at a 40 / 60 split (40% to you, 60% to us).
To keep things seamless, we ask for a quick monthly update from your team on what’s sold so we can replenish your display accordingly. Clear communication keeps everything flowing smoothly.

Lead Times

• Notebooks & Paper Art Prints: 1–3 weeks
  Printed right here in Aotearoa, as we learn your preferences, we’ll hold your bestsellers in stock so you can reorder with a 3–5 day turnaround. Need them sooner? Let us know, we can fast-track a print run with our local partners.

• All Other Artworks: 2–3 weeks
  Rush orders can usually be completed within a week (+ $15 rush fee).

Display Options

We’re developing branded displays, both tabletop and free-standing, to help our stockists create stunning, cohesive presentations.
We’d love your input on what best suits your space and style.

Custom Artwork

Is your store based somewhere iconic, a place your customers fall in love with?
We create exclusive, location-inspired artworks that celebrate your region and give your customers a truly unique souvenir.

For custom printed designs, there’s a one-time $200 design fee (split across your next three orders).
If it’s based on an original painting, we can also provide the artwork itself on display, complete with a QR-code silent auction, connecting your customers directly to the artist’s story while your prints sell beside it.

(The original painting offer applies to stores with monthly sales of $1000 or more.)
