In Retro Blocking, bold geometric forms lock together in a confident composition of colour, line and negative space. Rich chocolate brown and burnt orange dominate the work, balanced by warm white, soft beige and cool grey, while strong black outlines give each shape its own architectural presence.

There is a distinctly retro sensibility to the palette and form, reminiscent of mid-century interiors, 1970s design and modernist architecture, yet the irregular edges, visible texture and shifting proportions keep the work firmly contemporary. Each block appears to push against the next, creating a satisfying tension between structure and spontaneity.
