In Caspian Blue Squares, structure and spontaneity meet in a layered abstract composition of intersecting blocks, fractured lines and shifting planes. Cool Caspian blues sit against chalky whites and soft stone neutrals, while deep charcoal, forest green and earthy brown bring weight and contrast to the work.

The composition has an architectural quality, suggestive of windows, walls, streets and structures viewed from changing perspectives. Shapes appear to overlap, recede and interrupt one another, creating a sense of an imagined cityscape without ever becoming literal.
